tongueinchicFollowing the success of her bestselling memoir ‘The Vogue Factor’, fashion insider Kirstie Clements, has released a new book Tongue in Chic.

In May 2012 Kirstie Clements was sacked after twenty-five years with Vogue Australia, thirteen of them spent as editor. In March 2013 she released her bestselling memoir The Vogue Factor, attracting worldwide media attention, including an appearance on the US talkshow The View.

Following the success of The Vogue Factor, Clements has released a new book, Tongue In Chic, a collection of anecdotal stories drawn from a career spanning more than twenty-five years at Vogue Australia.

Writing as editor-in-chief of the fictitious ‘Chic’ magazine, Clements writes about a fast-changing industry under attack from PR people, fashion bloggers, social media, shrinking budgets and falling advertising revenues. But as readers of Tongue in Chic will soon discover, some things in the world of high fashion never change.

Featuring a cast of memorable characters – the supermodel, the oracle, the editor, the stylist, and the fashion blogger, Tongue in Chic lifts the lid on the tantalising and often crazy world of high fashion, where the average work day involves counting calories, masterful justification of spending half your annual salary on the latest ‘must have’ from fashion week, and keeping a kohl-lined eye on the competition.

Tongue in Chic is published by Melbourne University Publishing and readers can choose from four different cover colours, designed by fashion illustrator Megan Hess, who also designed the covers for bestselling author Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City).
