4999118867_3d26c30e93_bThe day that your partner gets down on one knee to propose should be one of the happiest days of your life. Getting engaged is incredibly exciting, as you have so many exciting things to look forward to. However, if the ring your partner has picked out isn’t right, it can leave you feeling miserable.

You might be madly in love with him, but that doesn’t mean that you should have to wear a ring that you don’t like. After all, you will have to wear it for the rest of your life, so you need to love it. Period.

Today, it’s incredibly common for women to get a say in their engagement ring, so if you don’t like it, tell him. Just make sure to be gentle about it – he’ll appreciate your honesty. According to a new study, one in three women who agree to marry their partner, have opted to get involved with choosing the ring. He might be a little hurt at first, but in the long run, he’ll be glad that you said something.

To help you swap the ring he chose for a design that you love, here are a few tips that you might find useful:

Think about the design that you want

Before you start looking for the perfect ring, take some time to think about what style you like. Do you want a simple design or something a little fancier? Is there a particular metal that you prefer? Are you a fan of classic or contemporary jewelry designs? These are all important things to think about before going ring shopping.

If you are shopping online, coupons for ebay shipping is one of the options you can think of.

Go ring shopping together

Okay, so you may not have liked the original ring that your fiancé picked out, but it’s important to include him in finding a new one. Don’t make the mistake of going with the girls, choosing an engagement ring is something that you and your partner should do together.

Once he has returned the original ring, ask him what your budget is. Yes, this might take some of the romance away, but you need to know how much you have to work with. Otherwise, things could get a little awkward if you happen to fall in love with diamond rings that are out of his price range.

Include him in the decision

Wedding. Most guys won’t care what ring you opt for, but it’s still a nice gesture to get him involved with choosing the perfect one. Go to lots of different stores, pick out suitable designs and try them on.

This will give you an idea of the types of rings that you like, so that you can find the perfect design. Once you have found a ring that appeals to you, show your partner and ask what he thinks. By asking your finacé his opinion of the ring that you have picked, you will make him feel included in the decision.

Choosing your own engagement ring is a lot more common than you might think. So if you don’t like the ring that you partner has picked out, don’t be afraid to tell him. Just make sure to be kind about how you tell him, and to include him in shopping for a new ring.
