Are you a solo female traveler looking for a great holiday in Koh Samui? Well, you must first congratulate yourself for selecting one of the best islands in Thailand! The island is perfectly safe and loaded with plenty of fun activities to do for a woman who wants to enjoy a trip on her own.

Here is the ultimate guide on Koh Samui for solo female travelers.

Why visit Koh Samui

Well, the island mimics the vision of a tropical paradise and meets the tourists’ expectations of soft white sandy beaches with warm and clear blue waters. Beach lovers would indeed find themselves in a haven once they arrive in Koh Samui as the weather is perfect, and the views are always incredible. English is widely spoken, and the best time to visit is from January to March, which are the drier months.

How to get to Koh Samui

Getting to Koh Samui is very simple, and the most convenient way is flying from Bangkok, Phuket, Singapore, or Pattaya. There are several ferries and catamarans that run from the Thai mainland.

Where to Stay in Koh Samui

When it comes to lodging, you are sure to remain spoiled for choices as there are plenty of accommodations in the area that suit all budgets. For those solo female travelers looking for a more scenic location should head for Taling Ngam and should consider Lamai is looking for a quieter place to stay. Based on expert advice for other female travelers, a Lamai center and Chaweng are considered the best place as the areas are closer to the major attraction, and people are warm and sociable.

What to do and see

There is plenty to see and several fun activities to indulge in on the island. There is something going on at all times of the day and night. Here are some of the major tourist attractions in Koh Samui:

  • Head for the Secret Buddha Garden that is located at the top center part of the mountains where you will come across the garden. The garden is filled with not just several statues of Buddha and different animals but also loaded with native foliage and flowers.
  • Explore the fantastic Ang Thong National Marine Park, where you can simply relax and spend some time with the peaceful nature. Find yourself surrounded by limestone mountains, lush jungles, hidden coves, and pristine beaches.
  • Join one of the regular Thai cooking classes and learn how to cook that mouthwatering Thai food. It is dine done of the must-do activities on Koh Samui, and you can take seral lessons or even one or two based on your interests and availability of time.
  • Look at the mummified monk at Wat Khunaram, which happens to be a fascinating attraction. As the name suggests, it indeed seems a bit bizarre to look at the figure of the mummified monk on display within a glass enclosure.
  • Grandmother and Grandfather Rocks are well popular among the locals and the tourists. Those rock formations look a lot like male and female genitalia and referred to as Ta and Yai, respectively.
  • You must make a visit to the Bophut Elephant Camp, that happens to be the first elephant sanctuary in Koh Samui. Do not miss the chance to feed and walk with those gentle elephants and spend some time with them in the fabulous purpose-built pool for them.
  • If you love diving and snorkeling, well, Koh Samui is the perfect place to start your underwater adventure. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, you can make the right start here and dive in those clear seas with pristine reefs teeming with vibrant marine life.
