Don’t be fooled into thinking your wedding needs to take place in an indoor venue, with chair covers and streamers and a three-course meal charged at what feels like a million dollars per head. Step outside your comfort zone and head outdoors, there’s plenty of land, air and sea to choose from, after all.

Land

If a gorgeous country garden is your sort of thing, then you’ll find beautifully manicured lawns and stunning flowerbeds at Queens Gardens, based on the outskirts of Perth. The garden’s fantastic gazebo is perfect for use in spring weddings, and the gardens are surprisingly tranquil and quiet considering they are so close to the city. If you’re based in the area, you can find a wide range of Perth wedding venues by visiting Bride Online.

We have some stunning beaches to choose from here in Australia, but we particularly love the Brighton Savoy and the gorgeous beach adjacent, featuring stunning multi-coloured beach huts – perfect as backdrops for your wedding shots.

If you enjoy a glass, or four, of wine then a vineyard location might just be the perfect choice. The Red Hill Vineyards offer a real wedding of sophistication featuring sumptuous house wines, gorgeous scenery and a personalised service for you and your guests.

Air

If you’re feeling daring then the only way to go is up, and it’s actually surprisingly easy to tie the knot with your head in the clouds. Scenic Rim Scapes, a company that specialises in hot air balloons, offers a fully tailored hot air balloon wedding experience, with prices starting from $1900, all-inclusive.

Just imagine the stunning views as you say your vows, with your intimate party of select witnesses. Once your ride and ceremony is complete you can then use the Scenic Rim Vineyard for your wedding breakfast.

Whilst it’s not a popular option (and there are no packages available) people have tied the knot 30,000 feet above ground in a plane. Thomas Cook helped arrange for a couple to wed on a flight from the UK to Rhodes, but it was all a complete surprise for the bride, as the groom popped the question on board and they held their ceremony in the aisle of the plane. A tad extreme maybe, but definitely a day to remember!

Sea

If basking in the freedom of the salty air and open water is your idea of fun then celebrating your wedding on a beautiful cruise boat on Sydney Harbour will make for a memorable day.

The Elite Cruise Company offer an exceptional wedding day service, whether you want to say your vows whilst out on the water or hold your reception on board. The company even offers a wedding co coordinator who will help you organise everything from the flowers to the photographer and the entertainment.

All Elite wedding receptions come with white linen for the tables, mini vases with gerberas and greenery and tea light candles, to help you create a beautiful romantic mood on board.
