Are Your Sofa And Upholstery Really Clean?Having a clean sofa makes the living room pleasant to spend time in. A dirty or stained sofa should be cleaned or replaced if the stains prove too difficult to get rid of. Obvious stains such as coffee and wine are easy to remove, but does this mean that the sofa and upholstery are really clean? Carpets also collect lots of hidden dirt which will require carpet cleaning in Perth. Read this helpful guide about the hidden dirt which could mean that the furniture is still contaminated even after these blemishes have been removed.

People Walking Around In Socks And Bare Feet

People’s feet collect dust and grime from around the house and can trample this near-invisible dirt into the carpet and cause it to become unclean. Special shampoos can be used to clean this dirt away and leave the carpet as clean as it can possibly be. Research different companies if you need carpet cleaning in Perth. Have the carpet cleaned at once a year to keep it completely fresh.

Indoor slippers are much less likely to pick up dirt, and can be worn to help keep carpets as clean as possible.

Smoking

Cigarettes might not leave obvious stains on the sofa and upholstery, but chemicals and smoke can cause the fabric to become faintly discoloured. The smoke from cigarettes can find its way into the fabric of the furniture and may cause unpleasant smells to linger even after the furniture has been cleaned.

To prevent smoking from causing damage to the furniture, ask people to smoke outside if they have to. This will help to preserve the fabric of the couch for as long as possible. If furniture has a lingering smell or has become discoloured, have it deep-cleaned by a professional company.

Sticky Soft Drinks And Alcohol

Sticky soft drinks and alcohol can be soaked up after they are spilt, but the liquid can soak into the fabric. This can cause stains which are hard to remove without special products. These drinks can also cause the carpet or furniture to emit an unpleasant smell if they are not deep-cleaned properly, especially on hot summer days.

One way to prevent this from happening is to only consume drinks in the kitchen or in the dining room where they can be easily cleaned off linoleum.

Hair And Dead Skin

Pets such as cats and dogs will shed their hair all over the house, which can find its way into the fabric of the carpets. Some of these hairs may be too fine for the naked eye to see. A deep clean will ensure that these hairs are picked up.

Dead skin cells can also find their way into the carpet fabric and need to be removed.

Dust Mites

Dust mites are microscopic bugs which will burrow into the fabric of the carpet. They can be removed with a deep clean.

Use this guide to make sure the sofa and carpets are completely clean.
