It may be warm for most of the year in sunny Australia, but when it comes to the cooler autumn and winter seasons, it’s good to make sure that you have some warmer clothes available. This autumn, there is a huge range of exciting new trends available to make sure that you’re able to easily transition into dealing with the cooler temperatures as well as looking fashionable and trendy at the same time. Here are just some of the autumn and winter fashion trends set to be huge this year.

Trench Coats

One of the biggest autumn trends taking over the high street and online boutiques this season is the trench coat. Versatile and comfortable, trench coats are designed in such a way that they look amazing with either casual or formal ensembles, giving you the opportunity to save money by having one coat for both work and play. When it’s not cold enough to wear a big coat but too chilly to go without, having a trench coat comes in handy as they’re lightweight enough to keep you shielded from a nippy breeze but won’t make you feel like you’re wearing too much. Classic color options are black, navy or beige – but if you’re more of a colorful person, you can get them in all kinds of creative and bright shades.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are a staple item when it comes to autumn fashion. Available in a whole variety of different styles, materials and colors, this season’s footwear of choice will go with the majority of outfits and can be dressed up or down whether you’re looking to dress up a formal outfit or want something comfortable and casual. Whether you prefer comfy flats or like to elevate your height with chunky heels, you’ll definitely find something that suits you from this season’s extensive range.

Winter Knits

Knitwear and winter go together like salt and pepper, lock and key, peaches and cream… OK, you probably get it. This autumn and winter you definitely won’t be disappointed by the great range of knitwear available to keep you warm and cozy on chilly days. For autumn, turtleneck, sleeveless cable knits are looking huge and are great for layering under a biker jacket or trench coat on days that aren’t freezing, but require a little more wrapping up than usual.

Distressed Jeans

Huge last season, ripped and distressed jeans are back again with a bang. This autumn and winter, look bang on trend in a pair of distressed denim jeans, available in classic blue, light blue, navy, black or even white. Comfortable and casual, pair ripped jeans with a classic checked shirt or oversized tee and beanie hat to look perfectly fashionable as well as staying comfortable as the temperatures drop. Skinny jeans are once again the favorite choice, but don’t shy away from other styles such as boyfriend jeans which can look just as great.
