5 Motivational Mantras Every Entrepreneur Should HearWe’ve heard the success stories and found inspiration in the ordinary people leaving their big mark upon the world. More than ever, people are swapping the daily grind of corporate life for the fast paced, high intensity startup world, with incredible results. Here down under, this couldn’t be more true! Research has ranked Australia as one of the best places to be an entrepreneur, especially a female entrepreneur.

While entrepreneur life is unbeatable, we all need the motivational reminders from time to time. To get us through the rough patches, the excitement, even the high stakes, heart pounding uncertainty. Entrepreneurs, these motivational mantras are for you!

Failure isn’t the end

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” — Michael Jordan

Though our failures might leave us feeling drained and downcast, they’re an inevitable obstacle on the path to success. Becoming the best in the business means experiencing the failures and seeing the small triumphs around the corner. Michael Jordan’s got it right when he describes failure as natural, and not trying as unacceptable.

Everyday is a new day

“Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” — L. M. Montgomery

There’s a reason why resilience is marked as an essential trait for entrepreneurs. Being able to push past the setbacks means you’re better equipped, continually learning from mistakes and making better decisions based on experience. It’s a small consolation when your mind is clouded full of endless hypotheticals and the pressure of startup life. However, it is a small truth we can all hold on to: each day is a new day.

Success comes after work

“The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.” — Vidal Sasoon

This isn’t an English lesson, it’s the truth. Despite what every “get rich quick” scheme might tell you, success in its most exciting and fulfilling form comes after work. There are so many different ways to define what success is, from feelings of excitement to the deep seated satisfaction and pride in your life’s work. However you choose to define it, a hard day’s work is at the heart of success.

Remember why you started

“If you can remember why you started, then you will know why you must continue.” — Chris Burkmenn

When you’re ready to give up, when you’re lost and don’t know how to move forward, when you’ve just stumbled upon your biggest opportunity yet: remember why you started. Your reasons may be anything, from personal passions to loved ones. At the end of the day, what got you started will keep you going.

It’s a long road from idea to success, and even success can be seen as an ongoing process. There’s a lot of energy that goes into the entrepreneur’s life. Often, it’s a supportive environment and community that will most help you along the way. Now it’s over to you! You’re an entrepreneur with big ideas and big plans. What motivational mantras keep you going?
