The Australian Government’s business website, business.gov.au have launched a free online resource to give business owners in Australia practical information on managing and seeking finance.

Developed with the help of business and finance experts, the Business finances topic at business.gov.au provides essential finance information in an easy-to-read, online format.

Managing business finances can be a complex and overwhelming task for any business owner. While it’s important to get professional help, it’s essential that you have a good understanding of your finances because ultimately, as the owner of the business it’s your responsibility.

The Business Finances topic includes important financial information that will give you more confidence when dealing with experts such as banks, lenders and accountants.

The topic provides information on a range of common finance issues, including:

  • setting up a bookkeeping system;
  • preparing financial reports;
  • seeking financial help;
  • improving your financial position;
  • applying for finance; and
  • managing loan refusal.

There’s also a handy finance glossary to give you a better understanding of complex financial terminology.

The Business Finances topic complements business.gov.au’s growing online library of business topics. Other popular topics include Taxation, Registration and licences, Employing people and Innovation.
