screenshot 6They say variety is the spice of life and for many people this old adage applies to exercise, where routine can make it difficult to stay motivated. With many gyms requiring members to sign lock-in contracts to use their facilities, changing gyms or taking fitness classes elsewhere, isn’t an option for most people. Enter KFit, a fitness platform that allows users to access hundreds of gyms and fitness classes in Australia with one membership and no minimum membership period, to turn the gym membership model on its head.

KFit launched in April 2015 with the strong backing of venture capitalists and angel investors. It is currently rapidly expanding to more than 10 cities in seven countries including Australia and New Zealand.

Using their phone or desktop, members can browse hundreds of fitness gyms and classes before selecting a workout that is right for them. Options range from the more traditional – yoga, Pilates, boxing and Zumba – to the adventurous such as rock climbing and rap jumping. Membership also provides access to fun leisure activities including laser tag and bowling. Plus, with no minimum period membership contracts, KFit members have the flexibility to take a break from their membership at any time, without any penalty.

On Tuesday 11 August 2015 KFit launched an app for Android and iPhone, which allows members in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland to access hundreds of fitness studios, gyms and facilities via a smartphone. Android and iPhone users who download the KFit mobile app from the Google Play or Apple Store will enjoy their first month of KFit for free.

KFit’s app also puts an end to the hassle of showing up to a full class, as members are required to reserve their place via a booking system. Friends can easily book into the same class and workout together.

KFit’s All Access Membership is priced at $69 per month and gives member’s unlimited access to partner organisations. Also in place is a $0 Basic Membership that provides free access to the platform, as well as one class per month.

KFit member Lucy Rogers in Melbourne said, “Joining KFit has opened my eyes up to so many fitness and leisure activities I never even knew existed. You and your friends don’t have to be a member of the same gym/club to go trampolining to rollerblading. Fantastic variety and endless opportunities for health, fitness and leisure.”
