National employment website, CareerOne.com.au, and online marketplace, eBay.com.au, today announced the launch of eBay Jobs™ located on the web at http://ebay.careerone.com.au

A strategic partnership between the two brands, eBay Jobs™, powered by CareerOne.com.au, will let eBay users search for jobs and access career advice on eBay.com.au in a world-first integration for the online shopping giant.

Dr. Stephen Hollings, chief executive officer of News Digital Careers said that eBay Jobs™ was another step forward in strengthening the CareerOne.com.au brand in 2008.

“eBay is an international success story. At CareerOne.com.au, we are privileged to be partnering with such a reputable brand in this ‘first of its kind’ initiative.

“This partnership extends CareerOne.com.au’s reach to eBay’s 5.3 million monthly visitors, and puts our advertisers’ jobs in front of a growing audience. In addition to the hundreds of millions of products on-sale at eBay.com.au, members can now search for their next job on the site.”

Sharon Scheepers, Senior Director at eBay, said that CareerOne.com.au was a perfect fit for eBay.

“Being able to provide broader, complimentary offerings to eBay.com.au members is important. CareerOne.com.au’s extensive job listings, in-depth editorial advice and job hunting tools, provide the right combination of content for eBay.com.au members searching for the best products and services.”

Linked from the eBay.com.au homepage, eBay Jobs™ will feature the following tools to help eBay job-hunters:

  • CareerOne.com.au job search box
  • Job Hunting Toolkit (including a salary calculator, sample resumes, email Job Alerts and a career newsletter)
  • Links to the well-known ‘Ask Kate’ career advice column
  • Links to other CareerOne.com.au features such as salary and wages information, a dedicated Graduate section and job hunting advice.
  • A ’Post a Job’ option for businesses to advertise job listings

eBay Jobs™ will also have links to job-related products in their respective eBay categories such as mobile phones, office equipment, men’s and women’s suits and travel guides.

The launch of eBay Jobs™ follows the launch of MySpace Jobs – a partnership between MySpace Australia and CareerOne.com.au in January 2008.
