Most recently seen on the hit TV program ‘The One’ as the Metaphysical Judge, Stacey Demarco (pictured) has built a career out of witchcraft – consulting and teaching others how to develop their natural intuition and psychic ability.

Despite her status as a leading authority on witchcraft and psychic ability, Stacey Demarco wasn’t born a witch, she became one after years of study and practice. After achieving success in the corporate world, Demarco says she became dissatisfied with what she was doing and opted for ‘seeking a more spiritual path’.

“Anyone can become a witch, you just have to study. After reading books on paganism and the feminine divine, I studied with teachers in Australia and overseas. Once I started seeing huge results in my own life, I never looked back,” she said.

Combining her experiences in the corporate world with her knowledge of the metaphysical, Demarco published her first book Witch in the Boardroom in 2003. Her second book Witch in the Bedroom was published in 2006. Her latest book, The Coffee Oracle shows how the simple everyday practice of drinking coffee can help you connect with the Divine so you can lead a richer life.

Demarco says the practice of witchcraft hasn’t really changed over the centuries.  People from all walks of life are still seeking out the ‘village witch’ for advice on what matters to them most. “Traditionally it was ‘How do I get my crops to grow?’.  Today people need help with career, money and relationships.”

Demarco’s clients range in age, background and purpose. It’s mostly individuals, but couples who want to improve their relationship and set common goals, also find the sessions helpful. “It’s a matter of having an open mind and be willing to try something different. The results are quite magical,” said Stacey.

In addition to her practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and at Neutral Bay, Stacey runs workshops in both Psychic Skills and in the Art of Coffee Reading.

“I think of psychic ability like running – all of us can do it but some of us are able to do it better than others. But to do well you need to practice. Take the Olympic Games for example, even if you have the genetic disposition to be a world champion runner, you still have to train and develop your technique.”

“Most people have experienced ‘intuition’ and I believe if you concentrate on building your intuition then anyone can develop psychic ability.”

“I have been teaching psychic ability for eight years and I believe it is inherently teachable and reproduceable. One of the reasons I was asked to appear on ‘The One‘ is because I have been training people to develop their psychic ability for such a long time and I know it when I see it.”

But notoriety has also had it’s drawbacks for Demarco. “There is certainly a lot of discrimination around people who are different in this way. Since I’ve been on television I’ve had a lot more hate mail from the skeptics. I thought the fundamental Christians were quite emotional in their criticisms, but since the show started I’ve never seen so much anger and emotion from people as I have seen from the skeptics and I’ve never come across anything as nasty,” she said.

Stacey says she has only one message for the skeptics: “If you really want to make an impact – get off psychic’s backs and go and look at the beauty industry because that’s what destroys more women and takes more money. The beauty industry is where snake oil lives right now.”
