Sydneysiders and visitors could win amazing prizes in a new photo competition featuring 2008 Sydney New Year’s Eve.

“There are so many wonderful photos taken each Sydney New Year’s Eve and this competition provides the perfect opportunity to share them and go in the running to win some fantastic prizes,” said Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP.

“We’d love to see photos not just of the stunning fireworks displays and the shimmering Sydney Harbour – but also pictures of vantage points and family and friends enjoying the night.”

There are two 2008 Sydney New Year’s Eve photo categories and two prize packs on offer which each include:

  • An exclusive behind the scenes tour at the Network Ten studios to watch the news live
  • A wonderful dining experience for two at Cafe Sydney (voucher to the value of $130)
  • A spending spree at a major camera store (voucher to the value of $250)
  • Having your winning photo displayed on the official 2008 Sydney New Year’s Eve website

The photo competition will open on 1 January 2009 and close at 5pm 16 January 2009. Online entry forms will be available immediately after the event on the 2008 Sydney New Year’s Eve website: www.sydneynewyearseve.com

Vantage points, event details, safe celebrating and transport tips are also available on the website or by phoning the City of Sydney on 02 9265 9333.
