freshflowersThroughout the course of our life, we will come across many different women, leaving a great impression on our minds. From popular public figures to the people close to us, women will influence and challenge the way we see and do things, often for the better. This could not be truer for the most prominently influential female figure in our life: our mum.

Mum’s the word

There has always been a distinction between to the role of mums and dads when bringing up families. And whilst the clichés over the traditional familial roles of different genders have changed, we still perceive paternal and maternal influences as being two separate entities. After all, being born from our mother’s body means there is a special link between us.

Showing signs of appreciation

Being a mother is a hard job. From the early stages of pregnancy to bringing us up, mums will work hard to make sure we fully grow and develop ourselves into fully functioning adults. And all this hard work does not go unappreciated. This relationship we have with our mums is often one of respect for all the hard work they’ve had to go through to make us the person we are. This is why when it comes down to those special moments of the year such as their birthday, Christmas and Mother’s Day it is our duty to find that well-deserved gift, showing our appreciation for what they have done for us.

Mother’s Day

Whilst birthdays and Christmas can be seen as generic celebrations which can apply to everyone, Mother’s Day represents the ultimate form of appreciation for the efforts made by mums. It is the time of the year where we have the chance to say “thank you for all your hard work, I wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for you”. Mother’s Day is all about the appreciation of life; it isn’t just any meaningless buying frenzy. So when the day comes, it is worth taking the time and effort to buy that little something special which they will enjoy.

The best Mother’s Day gift

The idea behind finding the right Mother’s Day present is to look for a gift which will bring a smile on our mum’s face, showing that we have made that little effort in consideration. The fact that we make that effort is what matters the most, showing that we haven’t bought the first generic present we could find. By showing we have taken the time and put some thought into it, our mums will be really happy with our gift to them. And no gift shows effort and time spend better than a personally selected flower arrangement. By selecting Mothers Day gifts and flowers at Fresh Flowers, we get to offer our mums something which is beautiful and meaningful. So finding out beforehand what our mum’s favourite colours and flowers are, we will show that we are making an effort in consideration, making them feel like the special person they are.
