So you’re looking for a hands-on, practical kind of career, but you’re not sure which is best for you. There are lots of options out there, but here are some of the best right now. Read on to find out more.

Designer

There are many different types of designers out there. Some designers now work in computer graphics. This is still a hands-on kind of job because you are making designs. But other people still design things with their hands, pencils and paper. For example, many fashion designers and show designers still use these methods. And even architects still make plans on paper and construct physical models. These are all good options for you to consider if you’re looking to work in design.

Electrician

Working with electrics is a highly skilled job. It’s a career path that has been around for a long time. In that time, a lot has changed, but the fundamentals always stay the same. Wiring buildings and fixing faulty electrical equipment are the bread and butter of the job. You have to go through the training process, get the right certificates and get some on the job experience before you can make a career of it. But once you’ve done all of that, it’s a very secure and well-paid job to do.

Construction Worker

Construction work is one of the oldest careers in the world. For as long as people have been around, we’ve been building things. And that is not about to change anytime soon. So, if you want to get your hands dirty and be part of creating something physical, being a construction worker is a good option. There are other jobs in the digger and excavator hire industry for people who want to work alongside construction companies as well. There are also lots of planning jobs. There is something for everyone in the construction industry.

Nurse

Nurses are always under pressure. They work in hospitals and in community care facilities. In the line of their work, they have to look after people with their own two hands. People might not always think of it as a hands-on job in the traditional sense. But it’s certainly true that there are no jobs that are more practical than this. By the time the day is done, the strain causes you to feel exhausted. But if you’re someone who likes the idea of doing a job that genuinely helps people, it’s a good career path to go down.

Tattoo Artist

The job market for tattoo artists is growing all the time, so there are lots of opportunities out there. In past decades, getting a tattoo was a very niche thing to do. But, nowadays, this is something that a large chunk of the population does. And you can find tattoo parlours in most towns and cities. It’s a job that combines a focus on safety and medical know-how (because you are working with needles) with design skills. Many tattoo artists do both sides of this job. They design and plan the tattoo before applying it to the customer’s skin.
