Here’s a chance to be part of the official International Women’s Day host celebrations at Central TAFE, East Perth.

In an unprecedented move, the Office of Women’s Policy is gathering expressions of interest from community groups, government agencies and businesses wanting to run their own stalls or event, all under the same roof, at one big event on Sunday 8th March 2009.

The International Women’s Day Expo will also be held alongside a special event to showcase the contribution of Indigenous women in Western Australia, in a true celebration of the diversity of women.

Central TAFE exhibition facilities are available FREE to non-profit community groups and at just a nominal cost to government and private organisations on the Sunday.

Lecture theatres and meeting rooms are also on offer FREE to all groups wanting to host their own launches, workshops and other events.

This is an opportunity to get involved and highlight your organisation, message, innovation or product to a wealth of women in an environment of respect, recognition and festivity.

The 2009 theme of “Sharing the Caring for the Future” will celebrate the contribution of women as carers, particularly those in the paid workforce, and explore some innovative ways to share responsibility for caring across our community.

To book a meeting room, exhibition space or display stall at the Community Expo call the Office of Women’s Policy on 6217 8230 or 1800 199 174 (regional) or email owp@communities.wa.gov.au … but be quick, places are limited!
