Second hand items have long provided consumers with an affordable option of getting what they want. Purchasing already used items also ensures that they do not go to waste as you can always re-use or discover a new use for them. As the cost of living increases, more and more people are looking to buy and revive items people no longer need, leading to an explosion in online shopping of second hand goods.

Clothes, tickets and household items and more can be bought and sold online thanks to the increased number of online marketplaces that have popped up on the internet over the past couple of years.

These websites capitalize on the sale and purchase of items and services no longer being used. There are special websites where you can get a gown, clothes for your baby or even fashion for your adult kids. There are also websites that only deal with gaming equipment or where you can get those DVDs you have always wanted a copy of and all at reduced prices.

When something comes up or you just change your mind about attending a concert or a sports event and getting a refund is not an option, you can always sell it online. This will get your money back and ensure that the ticket does not become useless. Ticketbis is one of these trending websites that make it possible and easy for people to buy and sell tickets to events or concerts all over the world. According to the company’s co-founder Ander Michelena, the buying and selling platform for services, entertainment as well as items, has been an increasing necessity and this is evidenced by the over 6 million clients it has had.

Similarly, ChangeYourFlight also provides a platform for selling plane tickets that are non refundable allowing you to get some of your money back. HallSt.com is allows you to buy or sell hotel reservations already made in hotels. These are however, just some of the flood fresh websites entering the marketplace for second-hand items.

The customers are also not lagging behind either, with higher chances of purchasing DVDs or clothes. This is according to Marketing Week survey which also reveals that compared to 2012, there has been a third increase in customers by 2013.

Because of the global financial downturn, these websites have been largely embraced by customers and it is also changing the view of the second hand market. This has in addition become a new business for a lot of those business oriented individuals who can develop more innovative ideas to enhance it.
