Travel: How to Stay Safe When Travelling in EuropeWhether you have already booked a holiday or are still yet to book one, no matter where you go in Europe you need to stay safe. Whether you want to travel to sunny Spain and explore the sights, or go to romantic Italy with your other half, the most important thing is to stay safe and be vigilant. After safety, come all necessities, so when you are ion your travel before you go make sure that you have your passport, your European health insurance card, your euros and anything else that you need. When you are on holiday you want to enjoy yourself, but it is getting the right balance of having fun but staying focuses on your surroundings too.

Documents

It is always a good idea before you start on your travels to make copies of your passport, EHIC, credit cards and your travelling itinerary. You could also give a copy to a close friend or family member as that way they have everything to hand in case something happens. Also make an extra copy for yourself, but keep it separately to the original one. Another handy tip is to email all your crucial information to yourself through a web based email account to you will be able to retrieve all that important information at any hotel or any place that has Wi-Fi if it is needed.

Holiday Insurance

It doesn’t matter whether you are going travelling for 6 months or on holiday for a week you should invest into getting holiday insurance. Travel insurance is one of the first things you should make sure you get when going away. You can even get travel insurance that covers you for up to a year, and on multiple trips, which is great if you have more than one holiday in a year. Travel insurance can cover you for multiple things from medical expenses, cancelled flights, cancelled holidays or even lost luggage.

Sight-seeing

The whole point on going travelling or on holiday is of course to see the new surroundings and see new sights. However you need to make sure that you are on the lookout every now and then. As well as being aware of any suspicious looking people is one easy way that can prevent any possible thefts.

Valuables

One of the most important things is to not obviously flash all your important documents and expensive valuables on holiday. Keep all of your money, cards and documents in your hand luggage and always keep your bag with you at all times. You may even need to buy a bag big enough which keeps your other valuables like laptop and camera safely in it too. If you make sure you can see your most valuable possession then you will have nothing to worry about and you can enjoy your holiday.

Common Sense

The best thing you can do on a holiday is just listen to your gut instinct, if something doesn’t feel right to you then simply just listen to your gut. Most importantly be vigilant so you can enjoy your holiday.
