Shari Ware today (70kgs)

37 year old Shari Ware is half the woman she use to be after losing a staggering 100kgs.

“I feel like Superwoman!” said Shari Ware, after losing the weight.

Shari now believes she can do anything after shedding more than half her original body weight with the help of The Biggest Loser Club, one of Australia’s leading online weight loss programs.

The 37 year old single mum from the Gold Coast, battled with her weight her entire life and weighed over 170kg before she decided to join The Biggest Loser Club 3 years ago. It took less than three years for Shari to slim down to 70kg and today she is feeling fitter, healthier and happier.

“For me weight was always an issue. My parents are big and by the time I was 5 I was big too. I was about 100kg at 18 when I finished high school,” Shari said.

Shari’s weight ballooned even further after the birth of her daughter and the breakdown of her relationship with her partner.

“About 9 years ago my partner and I broke up. He never had a problem with my weight, but he had a problem with me having a problem with it. After we ended our relationship I just wanted to be unattractive for a long time. I hid behind my weight,” said Shari, who suspects her heaviest weight was somewhere near an unrecorded 180kg.

“I busied myself with work, foster care and taking care of my daughter but I wasn’t happy and I knew I was a heart attack waiting to happen. I realised that if I didn’t take care of myself, I wasn’t going to be around to take care of anyone else.”

Shari tried many diets with little success before watching The Biggest Loser TV series, which is where she discovered The Biggest Loser Club, the online weight loss program the contestants of the show use.

“I went on the program and selected the Express plan to see if I could lose the weight at a quicker rate and it worked. I lost 5kg in my first week and that gave me the motivation to stick to it,” she said.

“I religiously used the online food diary to stick to my 1200 calorie limit and watched all the nutritional guidelines to make sure I got my fibre, fat and protein. I was exercising too – going to the gym 3 times a week.”

Shari Ware has completely transformed her lifestyle and now wants to help others to experience a healthier and happier life and soon, she will achieve her new dream of becoming a qualified personal trainer.

“There are so many ways that losing weight has changed my life. Even little things like being able to get down on my knees and being able to put a little handbag over my shoulder. These are things I couldn’t do at 170kg. Recently, I went to Movie World. It was the first time I have ever been on a ride with my daughter – I couldn’t fit on the rides before.”

“I literally feel like I can do anything now. I believe we can do whatever we tell ourselves we can, and if we tell ourselves we can’t, then we can’t. I just keep telling myself I CAN.”
