Whether it is your career, your family or your social life that keeps you most busy, I’m sure many women would agree there aren’t enough hours in the day. How great would it be if you could find some things to save you time and make life easier? We’ve been doing a bit of research into the best ways to make your life easier and here are the results.

Keep your phone working

Everyone we talk to complains about their battery life on their smartphone. What good is a smartphone when it shuts down just before you send that crucial text? For so many of us, our phones are our lifelines and if the battery life doesn’t last, it can wreck our days. There are many portable phone chargers you can make use of. Many of them are so small they will fit in your bag, or you can even get a handbag that will charge your phone! Perfect for a big night out, or when you will be out all day.

Use apps

Talking about your smartphone, there are so many ways you can use it to help make life easier. Smartphones are designed to help us have information at our fingertips. Sometimes we are reluctant to do the research that will allow us to make the most of our phones. From booking a cab with Uber to TripIt, a travel planning app that stores all your travel information, there are millions of apps you can use. Listen to your favourite music with Spotify and never get lost again with CityMapper. There are so many great apps out there, that if you can think of something you need, guaranteed someone will more than likely have already created it.

Hair removal

No women enjoy the thought of having to shave their legs or keep their bikini line trimmed. It is a pain however you look at it. If you hate going through the pain of having to do your waxing yourself, let someone else do it. There are so many hair removal services available. You will be surprised by how less painful waxing is when someone else does it. Alternatively you could also think about IPL treatments that can help to permanently reduce your hair!

Dealing with periods

Many people recoil at the thought of the menstrual cup. But a lot of other women also swear by it. It is a reusable silicone cup that can be used to collect blood when you are on your period. It collects much more blood than a tampon does (up to three times more!) which means you don’t have to change as often. Many women will wear their menstrual cup all day long changing it only in the morning and before bed. The benefits of the menstrual cup are three-fold. It is safer. There are no bleaches or dyes used in them. It is greener. You will no longer have to use tampons which can fill up landfills or end up in the sea. It is cheaper. You no longer have to cover the costs of tampons!

Stay organised

If you love to stay on top of things, there are so many resources you can make use of to stay organised. Evernote allows you to store all your work in one place. Maybe you have a bunch of handwritten notes, or need somewhere to store all your photos or keep your favourite web articles. Whatever the situation, Evernote lets you gather them all. Alternatively if you love making lists, then Trello is the option for you. You can create different to-do list boards and move cards around as and when you complete them. You can also share boards with friends which is great if you are trying to organise something in a group.

Create a budget

Many of us live from paycheck to paycheck. This can be dangerous if you aren’t planning carefully and spending excessively. We like to stay on top of our finances by creating a budget. Trust us, this will make life so much easier in the long run. It is really easy to create a simple excel spreadsheet with your weekly or monthly budget. Think about your usual living costs like rent and bills. Consider if you want to be saving some money too. From that you can then work out how much of a disposable income you will have. If you keep a careful eye on your finances, you might even find that you have more money than expected.

Challenge the kids

This one if for all the mothers out there. Sometimes you might feel yourself wanting to rip your hair out with all the stress of raising a family. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways for you make your life a bit easier. One of our favourites is to turn chores into games for the kids. Get them to help out with the housework by turning into a competition. Who can unpack the dishwasher in the fastest time? Or try hiding something like cash or a chocolate bar in the kids’ rooms and tell them that they have to clean up to find it.

Stop going to the supermarket

Doing your grocery shopping can take up a big chunk of your day if you let it. Plus, if you are anything like us, you end up getting distracted by all the snacks and sweets and buy way more than you intended to. Do your shopping online. All you need to worry about is putting your items into the online basket, and paying for them. The supermarket will take care of the rest and deliver it to your house on schedule. You can even choose a designated delivery slot that works best for you. So next time you are stuck at home doing nothing on a Wednesday evening, get your groceries delivered instead.

There are so many ways we can discover to making our lives that much easier. Most of the time there are ways that we can save time, so remember if in doubt, there is bound to be a faster or easier way.
