Australia’s number one dating site, RSVP.com.au has launched a new relationship matching service for single Australians who are serious about meeting compatible partners and finding a long term relationship.

MyType.com.au, was built and designed in consultation with leading Australian academics, psychologists and relationship experts, and matches singles on a range of compatibility and lifestyle factors.

New members complete a profile page and a fifteen-minute questionnaire on site. The site is not built for members to search the database, instead MyType will match members with other Australian singles with whom they are compatible. One of the key benefits of this type of service is that it provides benefits around privacy. You only see people you are matched with and they are the only ones who see you.

A recent Nielsen survey* has found that 1 in 4 Australian’s are currently single but not dating and almost half cite the major challenge in trying to find a serious relationship being limited opportunities or events to meet available singles.

“The MyType service is all about finding out what type of relationship is right for you and identifying who is most compatible with you and why,” said John Aiken, psychologist, relationship expert and author of the forthcoming book, Accidentally Single.

“Finding a partner is all about making sure you’re right for each other, and this extends beyond just personality, common interests and looks, it’s about overall compatibility. MyType helps singles find out more about themselves, empowering them to make better relationship decisions”.

The Nielsen survey also revealed that more than 38% of those who are currently single have been single for 5 years or more.

“There are many Australians out there who just don’t know where to look, or really know what they are looking for,” said John Aiken, “MyType can help by providing a framework to understand what you are looking for and what you want out of a relationship and then match you with someone who shares similar goals, dreams and desires.”

*The Nielsen dating and relationship survey was commissioned by Fairfax Digital and was conducted in December 2009 with sample size of 3550.
