It’s vacation time and whether you’re heading off to some far corner of the globe or are planning a road trip around Australia, you need to get your packing right. A beach vacation is one of the best ways to relax and de-stress, and can be the perfect break. As long as you get your packing spot on, that is.
To ensure that you get the most out of your break there are a few essentials that you’ll need to take with you. As long as you pack everything listed below, you’ll have the most fantastic time away.
Beach bag
When it comes to travel must-haves, nothing is more crucial than your beach bag. Where would you be without it? It’s the thing that keeps all of your beach essentials together and makes it easy to lug them to and from the beach. Without your bag, on a beach break you’d be lost. So make sure that this is one of the first things that you pop in your suitcase.
If the worst happens and you forget your bag, don’t panic. Most resorts will have beach bags on sale, sadly, however, the prices do tend to be rather high. So it’s always best to pack your own beach bag so that you can save your money for those delicious beach bar cocktails. Pina Colada, anyone?
Sunglasses
Unless you want to put yourself at risk of headaches and sun damage, sunglasses are a must. Just like the sun’s rays can damage your skin, they can also cause damage to your eyes. So it’s essential that you have a pair of UV ray blocking sunnies on at all times.
If you don’t already have a stylish pair, you can pick some up online. There are some lovely designs to choose from, so you shouldn’t struggle to find some that you like. Just make sure to double check that the lenses are UV ray blocking before you buy.
Swimwear
This one might seem obvious, but you’d be surprised by how many people forget their swimwear when packing for vacation. Yes, you can pick up a bikini or one piece at the resort, but the chances are, you’ll have less choice of style, and it’ll cost more.
Ideally, aim to pack at least two swimsuits so that while one is drying, you have another to use. Or you can keep one for the sea and one for the pool. Just make sure to pack a couple of swimsuits, so that you’ve always got a backup.
Books and Kindle
Sunbathing can get a little dull after a while; that’s why packing a book, or Kindle, is a must. That way, while you’re sunning yourself and building your tan, you can relax with a good book. The great thing about Kindles is that as well as being able to download books onto them, you can also download magazines. So whatever you like to read, you’re covered.
Cover up
Be it a wrap or kimono, it’s a good idea to pack a cover up in your suitcase. So that once you come out of the sea, or are walking back to your hotel, you have something to pop on over your bikini. Ideally, this should be made of a light material, so that it dries quickly and doesn’t make you cold. If you have a little look online, you can find some beautiful cover ups that are perfect for beach breaks.
Once you’ve popped all of these items in your suitcase, along with a selection of clothes, beauty products and shoes, you’re good to go.
