Story of SuccessYou have a story – how you got started in your business, your industry. It might be one of simple beginnings, struggle or fame, how you grew from a no name struggling artist to a household name or why you love what you do and that’s what your audience wants to hear, it is what connects your target audience to you.

It’s the real reason a client chooses YOU over the fancy-schmancy downtown firm.

So why do you need a brand story?
To differentiate your brand from others of course. Creating a brand story is not just about standing out and getting noticed, It is all about building something that people care about and want to buy into. It’s about framing your scarcity and dictating your value.

“People are looking for a connection. Tell a good enough story about your brand and people will not only get invested, they’ll want to buy from you. ”  ~ John Michael Morgan

How do you begin to build your brand story?
Your story starts with the connection made when a client hears your name for the first time, when he or she sees your logo, visits your website, reads your about page and experiences you on social media.

The signals you send about what you do and how well you do it, and what you stand for, these all create a compelling picture of your brand.

So, today I’d like you to think about your own brand story.
Your action step to create a compelling brand story this week is to ask yourself.

1. If I offered a product or service to my clients and removed all visible signs of branding ie: logo etc. would my clients still know it was ME!

2. What do clients, colleagues, friends and family say about me when I leave the room – if I knew would I be proud to hear it?

3. What do I stand for? Developing a compelling brand story can and will assist you in attracting your ideal perfect client, increase engagement and create lasting memories in the minds of potential prospects.

Everyone has a story! Why not make a start on creating your compelling brand story today?
