Australian Lychees are summer’s guilt-free favourite, packed with health and nutritional benefits.

One portion of seven lychees, contains as much vitamin C as a small orange – providing over 100% of the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C. Lychees are also ranked second behind strawberries in antioxidant levels.

Aussie Lychees are recommended as part of a healthy balanced diet as they are high in antioxidants and potassium and contain good levels of calcium and fibre. Better still are they have fewer than 65 calories per 100g and are fat free, making them the perfect guilt free, fat free summer delight.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Lychee and earl grey iced tea
For a refreshing afternoon drink, place 3 cups boiling water into a heatproof bowl with three earl grey tea bags. Stand for four minutes.

Discard tea bags and refrigerate until fully chilled.

Place chilled tea in a large jug, add plenty of lychees, mint leaves and some ice and top up the jug with lemonade. Serves 4-6.

Lychees with yoghurt and muesli
For an easy lunchtime snack or for breakfast on the go, place some toasted muesli in a small container.

Place some vanilla flavoured yoghurt in another container and some lychees in another.

To serve, peel each lychee, dip into the yoghurt then dip into the muesli.

Tip – rather than muesli, try dipping the lychees in yoghurt and chopped pistachios or pecans. Serves 1.
