kochchristmasNext time you visit your local shopping centre, take a look around and you’ll see that it’s beginning to look like Christmas. You may think it’s too soon but astute retailers have already begun stocking their shelves for the festive season. While many of us will put off buying Christmas presents until December, shopping for essentials such as decorations, candles and home decor for the festive season, must be completed sooner rather than later.

Christmas Decorations

In just a few short weeks we’ll all have to dig out that old box of Christmas decorations and shake the dust off the artificial Christmas Tree. If you’re decorations are looking a bit tired and ragged, or if you need a few new pieces to update your collection, there are several online stores based in Australia that specialise in turning an ordinary home into a Christmas wonderland. One such store is Koch & Co, an Australian family owned business established in 1931, that stocks baubles, ornaments, wreaths, tree decorations, candles, and Christmas themed decor.

Scented Candles

Candles provide a calming influence in the home during the busy and often stressful festive season. Choose lavender scented candles after a stressful day to create a peaceful, dreamy atmosphere in the home before bedtime. For a traditional look decorate your living room and dinner table with red candles like those pictured here, or choose fruit scented candles for a more contemporary summer Christmas. Dress up your candles in traditional candle holders, lanterns, hanging candle holders, or candle plates and mirrors.

Christmas Trees

While we often associate traditional Christmas trees with the northern hemisphere, Australians can still get that traditional look with an Evergreen Pine Needle or Evergreen Fern Christmas Tree made of artificial pine. These trees look like the real thing but cope much better with our high summer temperatures. Most often green, artificial Christmas trees also come in a range of colours including gold, silver, white, and red to complement your existing home decor.

Home Decor

The first step when choosing home decor is to decide on a theme. While some prefer the look and feel of a traditional Christmas, there are variations on this theme that you may want to consider when decorating your home for Christmas. Alternatives to a traditional Christmas include: Christmas Fruits; Evergreen; Gold Glamour; White Christmas; Silver Spendour; and Woodland Luncheon. You can find out more about all these themes in the Koch & Co Christmas Catalogue on the website.
